Job Description
Wafer Enterprises Ltd is seeking a technically minded and motivated computing or, IT graduate to support a key digital transformation project in our manufacturing operations.
You will work directly with senior management and production teams to design and implement a system that automates data collection and improves visibility across the manufacturing process.
Key responsibilities:
- Work with stakeholders to gather technical and operational requirements.
- Evaluate and select appropriate digital tools and platforms.
- Set up and calibrate sensor and computer vision systems on production lines.
- Integrate systems using APIs and other interfaces.
- Manage and develop digitisation projects from design through to delivery.
- Develop dashboards and data workflows to monitor operations, support order
tracking, and manage quality control.
This is a hands-on role offering exposure to industrial IoT, data integration, and applied analytics in a real-world production environment. You’ll play a key part in delivering a system that will shape the future of how our business operates.
The ideal candidate:
- Strong interest in systems integration, data analytics, and automation.

- Familiarity with APIs, sensor technologies, or computer vision is an advantage.
- Good problem-solving skills and willingness to work closely with non-technical staff.
The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Atlantic Technological University as part of the InterTradeIreland Innovation Boost Programme.

Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 2:2 Bachelor’s degree in computing or a closely related discipline.
- Knowledge of project management, data analytics, sensors, and API integration.

- Degree in Food Technology or a formal qualification in a technical food related discipline
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role in FMCG
- Excellent working knowledge and experience of HAACP and Internal Auditing
- Practical knowledge of Manufacturing Procedures, Product Specifications, Product assessment and Factory Hygiene
- Thorough knowledge of UK, NI and EU legislation for Product Labelling,

C.RESPONSIBILITY
Key duties will include:
- Conducting Induction Programme for new employees
- Monitoring, maintaining and ensuring that Training of all staff is up to date
- SALSA/ BRC record maintenance and ensuring integrity of document to actual production conditions and matching the latest Legal requirements
- Conducting HAACP and Risk Assessments every time the production/product environment undergoes any changes
- Developing Quality Control measures for each department and responsible for the quality function and Systems within the company including food safety legal responsibilities.
- Supporting new product and process developments with technical expertise
- Managing traceability, allergen compliance and raw material quality
- Training Supervisors and Managers on expected standards of Quality while leading the implementation and on-going improvement of Processes and disciplines in production, in conjunction with the Production Manager, Supervisors and their Teams.
- Conducting regular Audits to check on the accuracy and updating of
information for SALSA and other Quality procedures - Preparing for external third-party audits – SALSA/BRC
- Conducting regular Product Audits to check the consistency of product quality and labelling accuracy
- Creating specification sheets for product, PIFs, labels for front of packs and completion of Supplier Approval Questionnaires from Customers.
- Interacting, investigating and resolving quality complaints from customers and internal non conformances
- Ensuring that all product testing is up to date and reflects the latest required legislation standards

- Diagnose problem areas within the manufacturing plant – Defining problems, researching, interpreting, and applying information, and making decisions.

- Design daily, weekly, monthly and yearly PPM schedule and OEM servicing schedules

- Ensure work is carried out to the set standard and housekeeping is adhered to

- Follow Safe Operating Procedures when completing all tasks and within the set time – Advise on Safe Operating Procedures to help with continuous development
- Provide experience and assistance to develop and design the plant, equipment and procedures in automation and process development – Applying scientific and mathematical principles to design, develop, and maintain systems, structures, and processes.
- Maximise the current plant potential while modelling and the future factory in CAD, process mapping and simulation – Designing new machines to improve organization’s efficiencies.
- Carry out other reasonable requests made by the line manager to support departmental or company objectives
- Provide any necessary assistance when contractors on site
- Complete relevant paperwork for permit to work for Internal or External employees

About the role:

supply focus to join our team. This role will support strategic decision-making

- Degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Supply Chain, Data Analytics,
